So this is an old video I made after getting my degrees, but I still feel the same way and have yet to be successful in the field that I studied in school years ago. Obama needs to forgive these damn loans. If you are educated and broke, drowning in debt, then I know you can feel me. Can the broke people say, AMEN! Join my movement. Start by subscribing and spreading this video around. Investments should always pay off…college unfortunately isn’t for a lot of young people today in this tough economy.

Tuition keeps rising and student loans are crippling the future of so many young Americans. What is going on here? Student loans for college are largely a creature of federal intervention. Decades ago, politicians decided that it would be good to have more people go to college, and they created a system of grants and subsidized loans to make that possible. A brutally honest testimony from a soon-to-be former student of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division, or “Ai Online”. PLEASE, if you know anyone considering attending an Art Institute school, show them this video and save them the misery and suffering of ruining their lives financially. Don’t be taken advantage of by this chain of supposed colleges. Their courses are set up not to teach you, but to hand you an A+ just for showing up to class. They will not teach you what you need to know to land and keep a well paying job and at best, their terrible job placement is only going to get you a minimum wage job. Their graduate employment rates are heavily distorted and dishonest. Their degrees have no respect on the job market and they will ruin your life with insurmountable student loan debt. What you are signing up for is not an education – you’re signing up for indentured servitude and financial slavery. This video, despite its intended humor, is a rallying call to students that have been victimized by The Art Institutes and the company that owns them – EDMC (Education Management Corporation). Please contact us here on YouTube with your story so we can add it to the complication of testimonies. There are far too many of us out there and if we simply band together we can fight these criminals. The Department of Justice is currently suing EDMC and we all need to speak up so that if the fraudulent company is brought to justice, we students might be paid damages for …

www.coastocoastam.com Student Loan Problems First hour guest, fouder of StudentloanJustice.Org, Alan Colling, talked about a report that student loans are draining parents’ retirement accounts and how the lifetime default rate on the loans is greater than 1 in 3. He argued that student loans should have standard bankruptcy protection, and this would actually help keep tuition inflation down.

In an effort to help offset financial uncertainty, the Obama Administration has released an Executive Order to change the timetable for President’s Bush Income Based Repayment (or IBR) student loan repayment option. The existing law had set the cap at 15% of the borrower’s Adjusted Gross Income, extended the repayment period up to 25 years, and forgave any debt remaining after 25 years. The new version, starting in 2012, will lower monthly payments to 10% of AGI and forgive the debt after 20 years. Find out if this new plan can help.

The following description was taken from the actual petition hosted on SignOn.org signon.org Forgiving the student loan debt of all Americans will have an immediate stimulative effect on our economy. With the stroke of the President’s pen, millions of Americans would suddenly have hundreds, or in some cases, thousands of extra dollars in their pockets each and every month with which to spend on ailing sectors of the economy. As consumer spending increases, businesses will begin to hire, jobs will be created and a new era of innovation, entrepreneurship and prosperity will be ushered in for all. A rising tide does, in fact, lift all boats – forgiving student loan debt, rather than tax cuts for corporations, millionaires and billionaires, has a MUCH greater chance of helping to rise that tide in a MUCH shorter time-frame. The future economic success of this country is wholly dependent upon a well-educated, prosperous middle class. Instead of saddling entire generations with debt from which there is no escape, let’s empower the American people to grow this economy on their own! Therefore, we, the undersigned, strongly encourage Congress and the President to support H. Res 365, introduced by Rep. Hansen Clarke (D-MI), seeking student loan forgiveness as a means of economic stimulus. For over 30 years, the rich have gotten richer, the poor have gotten poorer, and the middle class is slowly but surely being squeezed out of existence. Instead of more of the same corporate …

The video was created to spread the word about options for students to deal with student loan debt after graduation, and have no strategy for managing their finances. The legislation is important because many students stop pursuing higher education because of financial burden. I’m currently working on my Bachelor’s of Science degree, and I’m just under halfway there. Unfortunately, my parents have both passed away, so I rely entirely on grants and student loans to foot my tuition bill and living expenses. I also work part time, but it’s not enough to cover living expenses alone while going to school. My expected annual income after graduation is in the 38-40K range. I’ve already taken out over 10K in loans, and like I said, I still have probably another 3 years at a major university to go. How much can I take out in student loans and still be able to pay it all back?

Plans For Student Loans on Newsfeed – Ahh, it’s that time of year again… flowers have bloomed, the weather is warming and graduating college students are contemplating bankruptcy because they have 200 grand in student loans to pay off thanks to their shiny new American Studies degree. So let me give you a few tips on how to beat those student loan blues. 1. Consolidate your debt onto low interest credit cards with great perks like airline miles. 2. Remember to claim them on your taxes. If you don’t know the exact numbers just make them up. I hear the IRS is really lax on that type of stuff and 3. Getting a job is always a good idea you lazy slacker.

For the first time last year, student loan debt outpaced credit card debt, and according to the New York Times, is likely to top a trillion dollars this year! This comes at a time when state budgets are being slashed, tuition is going up, and Pell Grants are in the middle of a budget debate on Capitol Hill. Ana Kasparian, host of The Young Turks, TYT University discusses what students are saying about this.
