Student loans for adult students with bad credit?

Well, I’m in a two-year degree program at the local community college, but need to take out a student loan for a computer and books. I’m 20 years old, married, and unemployed at the time (seven and a half months pregnant). My husband is only 19, and hasn’t been at his job for longer than three months (although he’s been consistently employed for the past year and a half). Parents as cosigners is not an option- so any advice?
Well, I got a grant, but it’s simply not enough. Thanks for the suggestions- I’ll definately check them out!

Tackling Private/Federal Student Loan debt consolidation with 100% income?

I have a plan this school year, to take out federal student loans, collect whatever grants and scholarships I can, and handle the remaining expenses with a private student loan from who I bank with (Wells Fargo). Then, consolidate those loans, and throw 90%-100% of my income at it automatically for the whole school year.

All things considered, dorm, declining meal balance plan, tuition, and books. I’m looking at total expenditures amounting to over ,000 USD
I earn approx ,000 USD per year at my current job. Living on campus would be cheaper for me than to continue staying in my own apartment.

I figured that if I have things like living expenses already covered by the loans (food, dorm), and I only get like for myself out of my paycheck, and the remainder of the money gets funneled at the debt… that would put my credit in a good spot to repeat the process for the next school year.

In turn, if I do this all 4 years, and get my Bachelors in Biology, Id only end up owing about ,000 after 4 years instead of nearly 0,000 like many students.

The only thing Id need a little cash for, is transportation (I use my bicycle, and public transportation… car insurance is too expensive), and money for laundry, and a little pocket change to go to the movies with some friends on occasion. Thats why I would want about from my paycheck or so.

I think this plan can work, and I’d like any helpful input that everyone might have.

Long-term, I intend to go to medical school and study to be a doctor (GP and cardiologist). I’m not interested in money. I want to do this, because I seriously believe that our government will NOT take the necessary steps to save itself from the "economic globalization efforts" that threaten the U.S. Dollar as our global reserve currency. I sincerely believe that we will find ourselves under the banner of the "Bancor" one day.
If that happens, things are going to change in the U.S. I believe the welfare aspect of our country will be totally shot. No more "helpful handouts" for Medicare, Medicaid, etc.

So I want to be a doctor in order to VOLUNTEER to help the population when those hard times come. People understand that doctors should be paid, even if they are so poor that all they can afford is to bake you a cake and give you their love.

I’m attending Nova Southeastern University. Though I am considering going to a UNCF (United ***** College Fund(ed)) school (Bethune-Cookman?), after I finish my first year at NSU, to get access to more scholarships.

I plan to get married. My girlfriend is still living with her parents in Richmond, VA. So maybe not till I complete my Bio major.

Anyway, does anyone have any advice on my plan?
            To answer Mr. Buresh:

Uh, thanks. I’m not actually in an "adverse" situation. I’m just looking for a few quick 2nd and 3rd opinions on my plan, and any extra ideas if someone has any.

How do you handle student loans? Missionary Preparation Tip #014

Student loans often present a hurdle for people headed to the mission field. Pay them off as quickly as you can! TRANSCRIPT: How do you handle student loans? How did you handle student loans? For me it was school loans that I had to pay off before I was able to really pursue this calling to serve God overseas. School loans are a very challenging dimension of our post-college lives. We often graduate with many thousands of dollars of debt in school loans, and many times we may not have the best paying jobs when we get out of college, so it takes a while to pay these loans off. In my opinion, I was convinced, I believe, that it isn’t fair or right for me to ask supporters to pay for my school loans, because that was something that I incurred really separate from the ministry. It was a choice that I made prior to going into ministry, it was a choice that may have some bearing on what I’m actually doing, but at the same time, that’s just extra money that really I should be responsible for since I incurred that loan, and those debts. I had to make some sacrifices to be able to pay off those loans quickly, I could have taken the minimum payment route, and that would have put me 20 years down the road and paying thousands of dollars of interest, but I chose to live simply, to live frugally, to be able to take care of those loans as quickly as possible so that I would be free to go serve full-time in missions. For more bankruptcy help, visit www.provoutahbankruptcylawyers.com Provo Bankruptcy Questions and Answers Can student loans be discharged in a bankruptcy? If you have student loans and your debts become burdensome and you’re not able to pay all your debts I’ve got good and bad news. The good news is there is something that can be done, you can work it out and there are ways to figure it out. The bad news is the general rule of thumb is that student loans are protected from bankruptcy and you can’t bankrupt out of them. But that doesn’t mean that it’s never been done. There are circumstances and you can actually kind of make an appeal to the creditor and basically ask for leniency. You can say “hey my circumstances are special for whatever reason” and ask for the ability to discharge that debt. It can be done. I’m not going to tell you how likely that is, that’s not my job. My job is just to simply tell you that can be done. Talk to a bankruptcy lawyer and see what your options are. The alternative, if you can’t, if they’re non-dischargeable, then you can file a Chapter 13 and you can actually pay them back on a schedule that works within your income.

I have student loans and when I die will the insurance policies have to pay loans?

If I have student loans and I die, will the insurance policy that I have with my husband as the beneficiary go to pay those student loans and not go to him? He is not on the student loans though.

College Conspiracy is the most comprehensive documentary ever produced about higher education in the US The film exposes the facts and truth about America’s college education system. ‘College Conspiracy’ was produced over a six-month period by NIA’s team of expert Austrian economists with the help of thousands of NIA members who contributed their ideas and personal stories for the film. NIA believes the US college education system is a scam that turns vulnerable young Americans into debt slaves for life. NIA tracks price inflation in all US industries and there is no industry that has seen more consistent price inflation this decade than college education. After the burst of the Real Estate bubble, student loans are now the easiest loan to receive in the US, and total student loan debts now exceed credit card debts. The government gives out easy student loans to anybody, regardless of grades, credit history, what they are majoring in, and what their job prospects are. NIA believes it is illegal for the US government to be in the student loan business because the US constitution doesn’t authorize it. Just like how the US government created Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make housing affordable, but instead drove housing prices through the roof; the US government, by trying to make college more affordable, is accomplishing the exact opposite and driving tuition prices to astronomical levels that provide a negative return on investment. The US has been experiencing 5.15

I’m a rising junior with no scholarship money anymore, and my savings are completely drained. I’ve been looking at student loans, but I just started a new job and have no credit right now, so i need a so-signer on my loans. My parents have already said they won’t co-sign for me, and I don’t have anyone else to ask.
Does anyone know of any student loans for around 00 that I would be eligible for without a co-signer?
I filed my FAFSA on sunday. The problem is that according to my parents tax information, I’m not eligible for federal assitance because they made to much money. What the government is neglecting to realize is that my parents aren’t paying for my college.
