Student Loans for people with bad credit that take only to co-signers credit into consideration?

I have bad credit, but need a student loan. Stafford loans only offer 0 because I am on scholarship, but I still need money for books and rent. I have a co-signer with good credit available. Are there any loans that will just look at their information instead of my own?
And where would I find these?

Where can I find information on student loan consolidation, both private and federal?

I have about ,000 in student loan debt multiple student loans. About half of my debt comes from federal loans (both subsidized and unsubsidized), and the other half is from two separate, private lenders. I graduate in May, but I can’t find information on consolidation. I already have a full time job after I graduate, but making multiple minimum payments to different lenders seems a little ridiculous.

Does anybody have information on how I can consolidate my loans into one loan? Most consolidation programs only let you consolidate your federal loans. Like most recent college graduates, I won’t have any collateral to take out a "conventional" loan from a local bank. Also, I would like to do this from a company that will keep the loan classified as "student loan debt" to take advantage of the tax benefits.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

** I am aware of the pros and cons of loan consolidation. I would like to explore this option for having the convenience of one payment as well as having the option of a lower monthly payment

How much is reasonable for student loans?

I have been admitted to a private school, but… I am a low income student. I can get up to 4 thousand in financial aid, but I need to get 10 thousand per semester in student loans to cover the rest. When I graduate I will probably be -70thousand plus in student loan debt. Is this much reasonable or not?

Consolidate Private Student Loans with Bad Credit?

I have 2 private student loans totaling around 23k with interest around 16%. They are currently with Sallie Mae (ugh) and they don’t offer consolidation anymore.

Are there any other places I can go for private student loan consolidation? I have a credit score of 570 (I know it sucks).

I’ve done searches forever and seem to find places that are scammers or for good credit.

On Sept. 21, several leading members of the The National Direct Student Loan Coalition (NDSLC) stopped by Rep. Tom Petri’s office to thank him for his work in defense of Direct Lending. Tom Butts, retired from the University of Michigan and now an advisor to the NDSLC, said Rep. Petri will be proud of his work on student loans for the rest of his career, and that his descendants will as well. The NDSLC is a grass roots organization of financial aid professionals. NDSLC believes that Direct Lending (DL) provides an excellent, streamlined process that allows students and parents to focus on education, not the administrative challenges that are endemic in the guaranteed loan system. The continuation of the DL program is vital to quality service for students and the efficient use of financial aid resources. NDSLC provides a conduit in Washington for those who want to ensure the continuation of the DL program. It is dedicated to improving the DL program to assure institutions have a choice in the delivery of federal loan funds to students and to assure continued improvement to all loan programs.
